Acura is the first luxury automotive brand of Honda. Acura was launched in USA and Canada in 1986. This car was launched at the exactly same time when Infiniti and Lexus premium brands were launched by Nissan and Toyota respectively. Acura categorizes its cars into A-spec and Types-S marques which present the high performance cars produced by the company. The Type-R makes were produced during 1997-2001 and Type-S 2001-2003 whereas, 2004-2006 models are called A-Spec having V6 engines.
It was introduced in 2002. The features included 3.2 3.2 L SOHC VTEC J-series V6 and added 35 hp over the base model for a total 260 hp. Further upgrade was done by including included 17-inch wheels, firmer seats and suspension TL Type-S was again introduced in 2007-2008 models. Their engine is 3.5-liter V6 tuned to 286 horsepower with manual transmission.
