Mercury is the Ford Motor’s defunct division (1938-2011). The main purpose of developing Mercury was to bridge the gap between Lincoln and Ford with an entry level premium brand. The brand produced automobiles under Lincoln-Mercury division. The Mercury is still an active registered trademark of Ford. Here is a list of models produced by this division of the Ford:
It is the premium model of the Mercury Ford. It is a full-sized sedan with 2 doors and 4-doors. It had strong classic body. The car had a 5.0 Liter v8 engine. That produced 130hp and 140hp with 240 lb-ft and 250lb-ft of torque.
Mercury Villager is a minivan and its two generations were sold from 1993-2003. It was produced in direct competition with Chrysler’ and GM’s minivans. It was a joint venture brand of Nissan and Ford. The Villager was powered by the 3.0 L Nissan VGE V6 engine that produced 160-151 horsepower with 4-speed automatic transmission. In VX54 model the Nissan used VG30E non-interference engine for better access.
Mercury Mountaineer was a mid-sized Luxury SUV. It was in direct with the Oldsmobile Bravada and Acura SLX. It was redesigned with Nissan Quest and a sliding door at driver side was added. It had a V8 engine as standard and 5-speed automatic transmission.
