Here you have it, folks – the craziest option of them all! Why are we suggesting a sports car as a great road trip ride? Well, there are couples who road trip without kids. Friends even, and if there are only two of you, why waste the space of rolling out in a larger car when you can have the vacation of your life in this ride.
The Stingray only fits two, but the cargo space is more than enough for a couple of suitcases. Additionally, you can let your hair down with the soft-top convertible and the coupe’s lift-out roof panel.
We’re turning from small and fast to big and fast. The 2020 Aviator is a machine, unlike any other. With three rows of comfortable seating, if you’ve got a large family, look no further. The turbocharged V6 is a beast on the highway, and with 400 horsepower there’s more than enough juice to get from A to B.
All-wheel drive is available with the Aviator, but the car comes standard with rear-drive. This means it can tow with no issues (and no extra cost)
The Pacifica has always flown under the radar. In fact, it would likely have continued to fly under the radar if it wasn’t for this post. The Pacifica has not been a big hit commercially, but for road trips, this car fits the bill. Chrysler added an all-wheel-drive (AWD) package set to release mid-2020, and the 2021 model is set for a massive face-lift. Face-lifts are always fun, we can’t wait!
Aside from having a killer name, the Telluride was named the best new model for 2020 by the famed Kelley Blue Book. The 202 version is loaded with cabin space, so definitely fit for a family of 4 or more. But perhaps the best part about this car is the warranty. There are few new cars that offer a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, and 10 year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage on top.
And we end with a classic – the Outback. This car was made for road trips. It was made for piling in the kids, hitting a campsite, or just plain driving up to 12 hours per day and taking in the scenary. The Outback does it all, and it’s been doing it all for some time now. The Outback safety features are well-known, but on top of that, the 2020 version was completely redesigned and this new model comes with an interior design that is a world apart from its beginnings.
There are plenty of choices here to kickstart your summer vacation. This year might not have shaped up as you were expecting, but summer doesn’t have to be dull when you complement it with any of these rides.
